Welcome to Austin

Years ago before I moved to Austin, I remember this National Geographic issue very clearly. I would leaf through it again in the months leading up to me leaving the house and moving here. Fast forward another 10 years or so and I set up my first office for myself and one of my neighbors is the very photographer who took this photo. Michael O'Brien is a good guy and when I told him about it, he pulled a copy out of his collection, signed it and presented it to me. Very cool thing from a very nice and talented man.

My favorite sports writer Bill Simmons is featured on this webisode. His new 700 page book will be delivered to my house today, and it is the official beginning of the NBA season.
